GENERAL INFORMATION
When and where will the conference take place?
The conference will be held from September 16 to 19, 2025, in Kraków, Poland. The main venue is the Auditorium Maximum and Collegium Witkowskiego, Jagiellonian University.

REGISTRATION AND FEES
Can I register for the conference and submit my paper proposal?
The deadline for submitting paper proposals was August 31, 2024.
Are there places available for the listeners?
Yes, around 30 places were available for participants not presenting papers. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Currently, all places are already fully booked.
What does the conference fee include?
The participant fee includes access to the conference plenary sessions and panels, conference materials, all coffee breaks, three lunches, the welcome reception, city guided tours, access to number of museums and public transportation within Kraków.
Conference registration
The conference desk will be open on September 16 from 9:00 AM, and on subsequent days from 8:30 AM. Participants must register in person to collect their name badge with public transport ticket (hologram) and conference materials.
PANEL and PROGRAM ORGANIZATION
Each day begins with a plenary session held in the Large Hall A (Tuesday at 2:00 PM; Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 9:00 AM). See the conference outline:

Parallel panels will take place in seven rooms within the same building.
Panel chairs are responsible for the smooth running of their panels. Please check who is chairing your panel and contact them if you have any questions. Your PowerPoint presentation should be sent to your panel chair no later than September 12.
How long should my presentation be?
Each paper should last no more than 15 minutes. Panel chairs will decide on the format of discussion (whether questions follow each paper or a joint discussion takes place after all presentations). There is no need to send the paper in advance.

A conference app with an interactive program will also be launched during the summer. Only there you will be able to edit your bio and abstract. The accepted title of your presentation cannot be changed.
MASTERCLASSES
Is it still possible to take part in preconference workshops?
The deadline for enrollment passed on June 15. There are currently no places available for all 3 workshops.
Where will the masterclasses take place?
The masterclasses will take place at the Institute of History (Collegium Witkowskiego) on Tuesday, September 16, from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM. A light lunch will be provided for participants.
AWARDS AND GRANTS
Can I apply for IOHA awards?
The deadline for IOHA awards application was June 15, 2025.
Are scholarships still available?
The deadline for scholarship applications was November 15, 2024.
CONFERENCE PARTY
The event will take place from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
When and how can I buy a ticket?
It will not be possible to register or pay for the conference party on site. Registration is available until the end of August or until all spots are filled. The fee is 75 euros which can be paid after logging into your participant account.
How to get there?
– Shuttle buses will be provided from the conference venue,
at 19.20 PM.
– By public transport: bus no. 100 from Plac Na Stawach (approx. 1.2 km from the conference venue):

Return transport will be organized in the same way; shuttle buses will depart only at 11:00 PM.
Dress code: Smart casual — comfortable for dancing and climbing to the top of the mound

Public transportation in Kraków is free for you, but first you need to register at the conference desk. Free public transport is available upon presentation of your name badge with a special hologram.

Museums
- Mondays: most of the museums in Krakow are closed.
- Tuesdays: entry to most museums in Krakow is free.

Please note that you can only participate in one tour (unless there are available spots), and participation is on a first-come, first-served basis.
PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Where can I get water?
Tap water in Kraków is drinkable and very healthy! You can find more information here:
https://prostozkranu.krakow.pl/ We encourage you to bring your
reusable water bottle. We aim to reduce plastic waste, so bottled water will not be provided; however, you'll have access to excellent quality tap water.
Where to eat during the conference?

Catering will be provided starting with the coffee break on September 16 at 4:00 PM.

Lunches will also be served on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. (Masterclass participants will have an additional lunch at the workshop venue, Collegium Witkowskiego).

All participants are invited to the Welcome Reception on Tuesday evening at the conference venue, which will take place after the IOHA Gala Awards and a short concert.
Outside the conference, Kraków has a very broad gastronomic offer. Simply head to the city center and enjoy the numerous restaurants and cafes.
Bring your own lanyard!
In order to be environmentally friendly, we encourage you to bring your own lanyard for your conference badge. Most of us probably have several lanyards at home — let’s reuse them in Kraków! A limited number of lanyards from our conference partners will be available for those who forget or don’t have one.
Accommodation
Participants are responsible for their own accommodation. We highly recommend booking your hotel as soon as possible because September is a peak season in Kraków.
Weather
September in Kraków can be warm and sunny (over 20°C, 68F), but it can also be cool and rainy. It's best to be prepared for all options (cold and snow are unlikely).
What if something happens to me during the conference?
- In case of any health issues or emergencies during the conference, please contact the reception or the organizers.
- For any potential harassment issues, please contact the Ombudsperson, Alina Doboszewska (contact details will be provided before the event).
Will there be photo documentation?
Yes, a photographer will be present throughout the conference to document the event. Photos will be published on the websites of the conference, PTHM, and IOHA, as well as on social media. By registering for the conference, you have already given your consent to be photographed.
Conference Partners
Stands for conference partners, publishers, and oral history journals will be available in the venue lobby from Tuesday to Thursday.
